- Spiritual life to be strong and growing; study time to be regular and profitable.
- Wisdom to face interruptions, unexpected demands, situations in a different culture.
- Material needs to be met adequately; maintenance and repair needs; protection from vandalism.
- Day-to-day contacts with others – believers, unbelievers, government officials, business people.
- National helpers to be teachable, reliable, honest, spiritually strong.
- Health of mind and body, adaptation to food, climate, customs, emotional needs, loneliness.
- Adeptness with language so there can be good communication with nationals; translation work.
- Children’s needs in education, health, attitudes, adaptability, social development, possible separation from family.
Wisdom in living where there is political unrest and religious persecution.
- Relationships with fellow workers.
Family living on the field; concern for family members back home in America.
- Safety and transportation needs for travel on the field, on home assignment and tour.
- Ability to handle financial matters wisely.
Development of spiritually strong national leadership, the need to reach and disciple men.
